By Justin Kaehler I like to think that I'm too smart, cranky and old to discover new things, but I actually learned a few new important life lessons this past weekend. Lesson number one: This is dumb. Very dumb. The stupidity of trying to accomplish such a task becomes even more prevalent after I learned my second lesson of the weekend:

The Custom Sounds Texas Heat Wave lived up to its billing — the temperature and blazing sun were brutal. Preregistration for the event was an all time high. All told nearly 1, vehicles were site. There was a strong turnout of car clubs and competitors in the Truck and Car Show and that was just the beginning.

In the few months since the beginning of the year there has been a lot of activity in the Spektrum camp. I really enjoy the kick off to a New Year and love to plan out what and where we will be going to. All of those shows are checkpoints throughout the year, and gauges to let me know what else is coming up and what we might want to check out. But, you know what? As I write this out and think about all of those shows, I am realizing that the year has gone really fast.
Fortunately, with each Extreme Autofest, I have a refreshed look at what a good show is and it brings out the enthusiast in us all. From raised trucks, stanced imports, lowriders; to drift cars, exotics, and jeeps, Extreme Autofest has it all. With the massive quantity, quality was definitely not compromised. Whether you are an import or domestic tuner, there is always a sense of appreciation one will put forward when it comes to the amount of work and time that gets put into each project. For entertainment, EAF is one of the few events where music of all genres fills the air.
